Crystal Evans

Associate Director, Electromechanical Component Engineering PRIs

Crystal has worked at Allison Transmission in Product Engineering for over 35 years. She began her career as a student intern in 1990 in the Product Engineering Research and Development group. Since that time, she has held multiple roles of increasing responsibility within Product Engineering. Her responsibilities in Embedded Controls have included lead Engineer for several generations of the Transmission Control Module and Program Engineering Manager (PEM) for Conventional and Hybrid products. In addition to the PEM roles, Crystal served as Construction Program Manager, overseeing the multi-million-dollar state-of-the-art refurbishment of the Product Engineering Services Department. In this position, she received a CEO Award for Outstanding Achievement.  She is currently the Associate Director for the Electromechanical Components Engineering PRI group responsible for leading a team of engineers that work with suppliers to design and validate the electromechanical components that are used in all Allison products.

Crystal grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana, graduating from North Central High School. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University at Indianapolis.

Crystal served as the Assistant President for Allison Transmission’s first Multi-Cultural Employee Resource Group and is currently serving as the Treasurer. In 2022, she received the CEO Award for her efforts in Diversity and Inclusion.

In 2023, she received the IUPUI Distinguished alumni award for her mentorship and advocacy in minority engineering programs and for women in STEM.
